Preschool Programs
Seton Montessori School offers an integrated,
comprehensive preschool experience for children aged three to six
years. The program features a variety of classes that are designed
to fit the specific needs of children and families.
Half Day Preschool Programs
Seton offers both morning and afternoon
half-day classes. The AM Preprimary program is a three hour class
(8:30 - 11:30 a.m.) that meets for five days a week. The PM Preprimary
program is a two and a half hour class (1:30 - 4 p.m.) that meets
for four or five days a week. The early childhood environments
allow the child to discover and understand the order of
his world, culture, universe, while developing skills to equip him/her for
full participation in them. All of the curriculum materials are
available for
exploration.
Extended Day Preschool Program
The Extended Day program runs from 11:30
to 1:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday. This program is an
extension of the class time for the AM or PM child so that he/she
has additional time to complete an activity begun earlier or to participate
in a special presentation; e.g. nature study, geography, history, second
language, etc. The children eat lunch together, and this provides
a time when special emphasis is
given to grace and courtesy. This program is designed
for the child who is ready for an additional time in the class
and especially for the 5 year old child.
All Day Preschool Program The
All Day Montessori program is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and runs
five day a week. The choices in program hours are 8:30 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. and
this can include additional hours before or after for those families
who need
longer hours. With this program we have created a Montessori atmosphere
all
day with Montessori trained teachers. Our curriculum not only includes
the
Montessori materials, which are available throughout the day, but
also
additional time for outdoor exploration and movement, care of our
animals and
gardens, nature study, art, music, and so much more.
